Psilohuasca ceremony via Psychedelische therapie Nederland:
The psilohuasca ceremony explained
Psilohuasca and ayahuasca both end in huasca. In addition to this similarity, both contain psychedelic substances in combination with a strong MAO inhibitor. In most cases the banisteriopis caapi is used as a strong MAOi. The MAOIs in banisteriopis caapi prevent the breakdown of DMT, psilocybin, dopamine, adrenaline, tyramine and several psychedelic and also harmful monoamines. In ayahuasca an MAOI is necessary anyway, otherwise the psychedelic active ingredient DMT will not work. Psilohuasca uses psilocybin containing mushrooms or truffles and the strong MAO inhibitors are not necessary, because psilocybin works orally even without MAO inhibitors. If you add MAOIs such as Banisteriopis caapi you will need less of the psilocybin-containing truffles and other psychedelic compounds will survive the stomach better and reach the brain.
The banisteriopis caapi is a powerful MAO inhibitor that also inhibits tyramine breakdown, for example. Tyramine can become a danger if the concentration becomes too high. Preventing increased tyramine can be done by following a diet.
As you can read via the link above, there are a lot of problems with the use of psychedelics in combination with strong MAO inhibitors (or medication). When using magic mushrooms and truffles, the MAO inhibitors themselves are not necessary at all. Increasing the dose is safer than adding the MAOIs.
Passion flower as alternative MAOI
The passion flower is a mild MAO inhibitor and will enhance magic mushrooms or truffles and prolong the trip without many extra risks. The combination of psilocybin and the passion flower (Passiflora incarnata) is also called psiloflora and is in our opinion the perfect combination of not the extra risks of a heavy MAO inhibitor, but the benefits of a light MAO inhibitor.
The Passiflora trip
The advantage of using the passion flower is that initially less mushroom or truffle is needed to achieve the same triple skin. Compared to other commonly used MAO inhibitors, the passion flower has a much milder effect and therefore the risks are lower (but take the regulations for safety seriously). The advantages of the passion flower are:
- Soothing effect
- Deeper trip (triplevel 5)
- Longer trip (up to 8 hours)
- Clear trip
- More visual trip
Apart from the improving effect of a psychedelic trip the Passiflora incarnata is also sometimes used without psychedelics against ADHD, nervousness, nervous heart problems, Parkinson’s disease, seizures, muscle cramps, hysteria, hypertension, PMS, epilepsy, skin disorders, hemorrhoids, burns, asthma, whooping cough, bronchitis, infections and as a painkiller for many ailments. Also for problems related to menopause. It is also used as a means to reduce the effects of alcoholism, to make it easier to stop drinking and is also used for delirium tremens.

The diet of psiloflora and psilohuasca
We do not use a strong MAOI when we prepare psiloflora. We do this because health and safety comes first. As an alternative to the well-known MAO inhibitors we use the soothing plant passiflora incarnata. The passiflora incarnata has the least risk increase, at least in itself, of the profits you can make with it during the trip. In order to limit the risks you should take into account an adapted diet. The diet below applies in particular to the heavier MAO-inhibiting psilohuasca. Sticking to this diet is more than necessary but it makes the risk of complications negligible.
The psiloflora ceremony
Most of the psiloflora ceremonies we supervise are individual. The individual ceremonies have the most impact because we make a plan of action that is personal. We do more than just guide people during a psiloflora ceremony. We believe that a healthy body provides a healthy basis to be mentally healthy as well. We do everything possible to tackle all facets of life and therefore we also advise our clients on the basis of nutrition, exercise and supplements. The whole approach for body and mind ensures the best results in the short and long term. Usually we use a schedule with most clients that looks like this:
- Registration, neurotransmitter test and intake
- Advice on dietary exercise and supplements based on point 1
- Review a period of 2-3 weeks progress from point 2
- An individual psiloflora ceremony (unless a group has extra use or preference)
- Discussion of the trip and insights on the same day
- We keep in touch for 1 to 2 weeks for the integration of the insights
Several people at the same time
In some cases it is also possible to accompany a group. If there is extra benefit in participating in a psiloflora ceremony together, this can be done by mutual agreement. We will never assign you to strangers so you can compose your own group. The size of a group can be a maximum of 4 persons.
Extras during psiloflora ceremony
The psiloflora ceremony includes the following extras to make the experience even better:
- Individual accompaniment psiloflora ceremony
- Aromatherapy (during trip)
- Colour therapy (during trip)
- Musical support
The duration and price of a psiloflora ceremony
A psiloflora ceremony takes about 6-8 hours and is different for each person. The cost of an individual psilohuasca ceremony including preparation, advice, psychedelics, integration and the above mentioned extras is 275 euro. Additional persons participating cost 150 euro per person extra. At an individual ceremony you may have a confidant present at no extra cost.
